The Galaxy Superdry from Mammut is one of the world's most robust 10mm ropes. A basic rope, with very low impact force, Designed for extreme sports or alpine climbing.
Single ropes are the standard type of climbing rope. They can be used for most climbs, according to their diameter and length. Their main advantage is that they are simple to handle and have a wide range of uses. A disadvantage is that you can only climb up to half the rope length, afterwards descending by rappel or lowering.A single strand can resist at least 5 standard falls with a weight of 80 kg.Wet ropes are more difficult to handle. If they freeze their dynamic performance is drastically reduced. Impregnated ropes are an additional safety factor for alpinists, especially on ice, mixed ground and in winter.
Whereas in conventional ropes it is usually only the sheath fibres that are dry-treated, Mammut ropes are dry-treated throughout the core and sheath, i.e. the whole rope is impregnated. This superdry treatment ensures a more effective and durable impregnation of the rope, while improving handling, resistance to friction and dirt, and durability.
