Tentipi Buying Large
If your idea of fun is embracing the spirit and adventure of outdoor life and experiencing a feeling of togetherness in a truly unique style then read on.

Tentipi are new to our line up this season and are a reflection on Taunton Leisure's ability to embrace new ideas at the very highest quality level to bring our customers something truly different with a very practical purpose. Of course the idea of a Tipi or Kata is not new, they have been used as an essential shelter by many and varied cultures across the continents for hundreds of years. Tentipi brings a wealth of knowledge in materials and design to create a structure that can be easily transported in anything from a rucksack to the boot of your car, for youth activities to family holidays at any time of year and in any weather condition.

The Swedish Tentipi company are based in the north of the country and have the ideal testing grounds to take their shelters to extremes with snow in the winter and wet and warm summers. Choose the right model and you could be camping in deep snow though the winter and still have the ideal shelter for the family trips in the summer without having to compromise on size and space or change tents!

These tents are unique in every way, from the high quality and varied materials used to the quick and easy way in which they are put up. A suitable branch could replace the collapsible alloy centre pole! We don't generally recommend you light a fire in a tent but Tentipi is designed to be used with their Firebox for a natural source of fuel or choose the Heat Pal spirit burner for cooking and heating. The unique style of adjustable roof venting allows the smoke and excess heat to escape, and the ground sheets are designed to fold back from the centre to prevent heat damage. It has to be a great way of extending the use of your Tentipi throughout the year.

As you can probably guess, we are excited and impressed with this concept and all that Tentipi embraces and we hope that you will be too. Indeed if you are unsure about this concept and taking a leap of faith then why not hire a Tentipi from us. If you choose to take this option and then decide to purchase you can have the hire charge deducted from the purchase price, we can't say fairer than that

Arran
Price From £549.95
The Arran has the same features as the Vagge, the key difference is the outer fabric which is made from Cotpol T4, mix of cotton and polyester. Although this fabric is more costly it does have some key advantages. Because it is able to breathe it will help minimise condensation on the inside of the tent and its cotton content will create a more balanced environment in hot or cold conditions than the synthetic options. Choosing this fabric option and the use of the optional tent floor may negate the need to use an inner tent, helping to keep the cost lower.
Arran 5 Price £549.95, Code: 12162.
Arran 7 Price £649.95, Code: 12163.

Nibba
Price From £549.95
The Nibba range uses ripstop polyamide, UV protected double silicone coated fabrics with reinforcements to the edges and base of the flysheet. The Nibba features a superior top cap venting system that enables multi stage adjustment from the inside of your tent, you don't even need to get out of your sleeping bag! In addition there is mosquito netting to the door and a large base vent to help through ventilation, a great help if using a Firebox in the tent. The centre pole is made from hardened alloy with reinforced joints to offer greater strength when used in more adverse conditions. As with all the Tentipi range the Nibba can be set up quickly and if using the Comfort inner tent or Comfort floor (sold separately) you can leave these attached to save time.

There is also mosquito netting to the doorway and at three base vents and this model features a hardened alloy centre pole for increased strength in adverse conditions. The flysheet is made from Cotpol T4 which is a blend of cotton and polyester with an impregnated finish to keep the water out yet still remain breathable. This remarkable fabric is not only very durable to give many years of strong service but it is also very comfortable in hot or cold conditions, keeping you cooler when it's hot and warm when it's cool.

Tentipi Comfort Inner Tents
You have the option to add an inner to the Tentipi tents that we carry and this will cover the full area of the tent with Teflon treated Ripstop polyamide fabric attached to a sturdy groundsheet. The groundsheet features a zip running away from the door so it can be pulled back to prevent water settling if the door is open during inclement conditions. The centre of the groundsheet also has the same zip features so it can effectively be pulled back to facilitate a Firebox or Heat Pal for cooking and heating. The inner tent also has mosquito net panels to the door, lower vent areas and roof vent which can close around the centre pole to keep insects out.
Adding the inner tent could reduce the effect of condensation on the inside of the tent adding a cosy feel to the inner in cooler conditions and giving greater protection from unwanted insects. Although the inner tents will fit all models, they are more commonly used with the ripstop polyamide flysheets where condensation may be more of an issue. Once fitted the inner tent can be left attached.

A zip extends from the door to the middle that can be folded back if the outer door is open during inclement conditions. Undo the zips from the centre to allow the use of a Fire Box.
Once fitted the Comfort Floors can be left attached.

Fire Box
Tentipi have cleverly designed their own Fire Box which not only folds flat for transportation but has been designed in such a way to burn logs and fuel more efficiently, therefore reducing the amount of smoke produced. Large holes in the base of the box allow more air intake and the box should be propped on stones or branches to allow airflow and keep the box off the ground. The Fire Box is available in two sizes and of course can be used as a cooker and barbecue on picnics and other events.
Care should always be taken when using a fire in the tents and should never be left unattended.
